Dr. R.B. Srivastava, Sc'G' has been appointed as Director, DRL, Tezpur w.e.f. 01 August 2006. Born on 23rd February 1955, Dr. Srivastava did his M.Sc. in Botany from Allahabad University in the year 1974 and Ph.D. in Applied Life Sciences from Kumaun University in 1981 with proficiency in German Language.He joined DRDO in 1979 as Scientist 'B' at Naval Materials Research Laboratory (NMRL), Mumbai (1979-1994). Thereafter he was endowed with the post of Joint Director at Defence Materials & Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur (1994-2005). |
| Before taking over the office of Director at DRL, Tezpur Dr. Srivastava was working as an Associate Director at Directorate of Life Sciences, DRDO, HQrs, New Delhi. |

| Research Interests / Specialisations: |
| Dr. Srivastava has wide research experiences in the
fields of thermophilic microorganisms and their role in agricultural
composting, marine pollution, biofilms and bio-corrosion,
bio-deterioration of marine and aerospace materials, biodegradation of
polymers and composites, biodegradable polymers and biotechnological
exploitation of microbes. One of his important contributions to Armed
Forces has been planning, coordinating and conducting 'Defence Materials
and Stores Preservation and Packaging' courses at Naval Stores Depots and
ten other military depots under different commands allover the country. He
has significantly contributed in developing 'Business Plan' for Life
Sciences Group of laboratories in DRDO. |
